Welcome to architectural-antiques.info
If you have found this site, You can proberbly see it's not built yet. My old sites software wouldn't let me in to update it, so today I made the decision to pull the plug on the old girl!
Anyway I will be working hard to get rid of the "help" articles that come with this program and replace them with my own articles on, "learning about" and "restoring architectural-antiques".
Please bear with me as I try and learn this new software program.

We are a company based on the Isle of Wight (southern England) and Sarasota Florida, who used to deal in all manner of architectural antiques, but we mainly specialized in antique fireplaces and all the aspects of period fireplace restoration.
We are now changing the direction of the business and selling off all our stock of original antique fireplaces, Georgian,Victorian and Edwardian and easing up ( and eventually stopping ) the "hands on" restoration side of things and dedicating more of our time on supplying replacement fireplace spares, parts and restoration products.
Now I have decided to change the direction of my business and my life, I thought a new website would kill lots of birds with only a few stones!
Continued.
We are renovating less and less original fireplaces now, so we can let some of the stock of original antique spare parts go. so I'm in the process of listing these nigh on impossible to get original spares.
This basically means you now have the RARE opportunity to buy original Victorian and Edwardian: grates, back flaps or damper flaps / plates, ashpan covers, hoods and front bars etc.
Also not forgetting our range of old stock of reproduction replacement fireplace spares.
Secondly, as we sell of the stock and this site will be getting more organised, I should have more time to do what I have always wanted to do, and write articles on all manner of architectural-antiques and their restoration.
I shall start off with one of the most common architectural items, the fireplace.
The fireplace is probably one of the most of the important fitting in the house, (mind you, stairs are dead handy though) the fireplace gives a room a centre point to decorate and to position the furnishings and most importantly heat and ventilation.
The first thing is to know what the components of a fireplace are called.
Therefore I have made the Fireplace Glossary page or the Fireplace parts for dummies page.
